SquareTrade, the largest independent warranty service provider in the United States, published a report that analyzed the failure
rates of over 30,000 new notebooks manufactured by the nine leading global brands during the last three years. A minimum of
1000 notebooks per brand were sampled.
SquareTrade concluded that with 3-year malfunction rates lower than 16%, ASUS notebooks are nearly 40% more reliable than HP, which was
bottom-ranked based on survey data.

The ASUS search for incredible goes on, with the ASUS team taking ASUS Zenbook to
Xinjiang’s Lop Nor dry lake in China, which has a reputation for being one of the most
challenging parts of the world. Located in the Kumtag desert, the region has extreme
temperature changes with high heat during the day and freezing cold at night, a nearly
complete absence of moisture, and dangerous wind gusts. This barren and has been
used in the past for nuclear weapons testing, and today few people live there. ASUS

A December 2003 expedition with acclaimned
mountaineers Shi Wang and Jian Liu set out to reach
the summit of Mount Vinson, the tallest peak in
Antarctica at 16,000 feet, where temperatures drop
below -100ºF. Wang and Liu brought ASUS
S200N notebooks, which met their need perfectly,
being light and compact and designed to handle
the rigors of exploration. “It was great having
notebooks we could count on in situations where
malfunctions are unacceptable,” said Shi Wang.
Conditions at the world’s tallest mountain may faze
other notebooks, but ASUS U5/S6, W7, and U1
notebooks were chosen to accompany an expedi-
tion to the top at Mount Everest. The U5 even made
it to the peak at a height of 8848m, with expedition
leader Captain Wang YongFong carrying it as a
tribute to eco-friendly technology and making ASUS
the world’s rst notebooks at the top of Mount
Everest.
